REQUIREMENTS FOR EXAMINATIONS AND ATTENDANCE
Examination shall be conducted in both theory and practicals. A candidate will be permitted to appear for the Autonomous Boards' Examinations in each Semester only if:
(i) She secures not less than 80% of attendance in the subjects concerned.
(ii) She earns a progress certificate in studies from the head of Department for having satisfactorily completed the course of study prescribed as required by the regulations, and
(iii) Her conduct has been satisfactory.
Examinations Autonomous Board Examinations in all subjects of all the Semesters under the Scheme of Examinations will be conducted at the end of each Semester. The sessional marks in all the subjects will be awarded on the basis of continuous internal assessment made during the Semester, Year concerned.
PASSING REQUIREMENTS

Cosmetology and Physique Culture
For a pass in subject of theory including
drawing examinations a candidate should secure a minimum of
30 marks out of maximum marks of 75 in the Autonomous
Board’s Examination alone.
(ii) A candidate shall be declared to have passed the
examination in a subject if she secures not less than 40% in
theory subject and 50% in practicals of the total prescribed
maximum marks for both sessional and Autonomous Board’s
Examination, put together. This statement is applicable
for all courses.
Modern Office Practice
A candidate shall be declared to have passed the
examination in a subject if she secures not less than
40% in theory subjects and 45% in Typewriting and
Shorthand and 50% in
practicals of the total prescribed maximum marks for both
sessional and Autonomous Board’s Examination put
together.Note:
1. Candidates who have not passed Lower Grade Typewriting (English or Tamil) at the end of III Semester will not be permitted to appear for the Typewriting Higher Grade Examination at the end of Semester IV.
2. In the case of Shorthand, candidates will be permitted to appear for the examinations in the next Grade (English Intermediate pr Tamil Higher as the case may be) only after passing the Lower rade paper I and 11.
The following is the maximum time limit permitted for the campletion of all the Diploma Courses.

Attendance
Minimum attendance of 80% is prescribed for each course a study. (Includes Lecture hours, Tutorial hours, Assignment and Test).
